Ford Announces West Tennessee Grants

Ford Motor Co. confirmed on Thursday, Sept. 18, the 13 recipients for its inaugural Ford Good Neighbor Grants.

The grants total over $201,000 and are part of Ford’s Good Neighbor Plan for West Tennessee, a $9 million investment focused on building community, career preparation, and environmental protection.

Thirty-five groups applied for the initial Ford Good Neighbor Grants, with the awarded recipients from volunteer-run organizations in Tipton, Fayette, and Haywood counties.

The Good Neighbors Plan is focused on a 15-mile radius around Ford’s BlueOval City campus. Ford plans to roll out its investments for the initiative over the next several years.

A majority of the initial grants (over $141,000) went to public safety initiatives in West Tennessee.

“Through group meetings and listening sessions, we heard that investing in public safety and community centers was a top priority here, and that’s why we made it a focus area for grants as part of Ford’s Good Neighbor Plan,” said Ford community relations director Gabby Bruno in a statement.
