Dyersburg State Community College
Covington is home to a campus of Dyersburg State Community College. The college focuses on student learning and offers high-quality academic programs that allow students to complete their first two years of college coursework at about one-half the cost of attending a public four-year institution.
Dyersburg State offers career programs that provide the skills needed to enter the job market or upgrade your current skills. In addition, the College offers several certificate programs that prepare students for specific, high-demand occupations.
The College also provides leadership in public service and collaborations with education, business, and industry partners to promote diversity and improve society at large through education.

University of Memphis
Located just to the south of Tipton County you’ll find the University of Memphis. The UofM is where your curiosity develops and your ideas begin, and is where students can learn the true meaning of community and teamwork. Whatever your passion, you'll discover endless paths toward it at the UofM.
Students come here from all over the world to receive bachelor's, master's, professional and doctoral degrees. The campus is home to the FedEx Institute of Technology and the Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality and Resort Management. Pre-professional training is available for students planning to enter dentistry, medicine, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy or veterinary medicine. Memphis also proudly offers Air Force, Army and Navy ROTC programs.

University of Tennessee Martin
Located a short drive from Tipton County, the UT Martin Ripley Center offers a variety of undergraduate courses supporting bachelor’s degree requirements in more than 80 specialized programs, including criminal justice, education, history, interdisciplinary studies, nursing, political science, psychology, and social work.
This state-of-the-art facility includes general classroom space; nursing, science, and computer labs; distance learning classrooms; conference rooms; student lounge and snack bar; administrative offices; library resources center; and lecture hall.
