The great outdoors close to home
If you love nature, Tipton County is the perfect place to call home. Our residents enjoy a great climate in every season, with an average temperature of 30˚ in the winter 91˚ in the summer. You will also have more time outdoors because we experience and average of 215 sunny days each year.
Residents of Tipton County have access to some of the most beautiful scenery in the US and can enjoy activities from bird watching to hunting, fishing, boating and much, much more. We are home to an abundance of wildlife and the area an important resting and feeding area for wintering waterfowl and other migratory birds.
The Chickasaw Bluffs, the site of our first native American inhabitants on the Mississippi River, is located on the western edge of Tipton County. You can also visit Glenn Springs Lake in Drummonds which features 310 acres with restrooms, boat launching ramps, fish attractors, and fishing piers. Fort Pillow State Park, just a few miles from Tipton County, is the site of an important Civil War battle. The park offers historic and cultural activities, nature and river trails and abundant woodlands to be explored.
