Planning For The Future

Over the past two years, Tipton County leadership has been planning for the tremendous growth that is happening across the region.

LRK, a top planning firm in Memphis, was engaged to conduct an inclusive process to develop a future land use strategy for the county. With a team of industry-leading professionals from The Chesapeake Group, TishlerBise and Kittelson and Associates, the “Tipton Together” Steering Committee was able to engage thousands of stakeholders, community leaders and residents. Through this robust public engagement process, Nine Growth Principles were identified that will shape Tipton County for the next generation.

The resulting Future Land Use Plan enables the community to achieve a vision of enhanced variety, amenities and quality of life while ensuring the cherished parts of Tipton County are available for future generations.

RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

Looking For Partners

The leadership in Tipton County is looking for residential development partners that are community-focused and have a track record of building high-quality, long-lasting products.

All of our city and county governments have worked diligently to streamline our development processes to ensure that investors and developers have an efficient approval process at the lowest cost possible.

Tipton County just approved its first-ever Tax Increment Financing Policy to assist developers in constructing the infrastructure that will be needed to build the level of new housing units to fulfill the thousands of new job opportunities that are being created throughout the region.

Each government in Tipton County has staff and resources to assist in planning and executing any size project and we stand ready to ensure the process is smooth and easy.

RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

Public Utilities

It is widely known that residential development cannot occur without abundant, efficient public infrastructure.

The municipalities in Tipton County offer excess capacities in water, sewer, gas and electricity to accommodate the thousands of housing units needed to meet the workforce needs of the future. We also have very low utility rates that are attractive to new buyers and make the cost of home ownership much lower than surrounding areas.

The communities of Covington, Atoka, Munford and Brighton offer the perfect environments to make your next development a success. We are currently investing millions of dollars in upgrades to our public infrastructure to ensure we can accommodate new residential developments for many years to come.
